Keeping a clear poker mind

Yesterday, near the end of my session, I raised with a suited connector and flopped a straight.

I could not believe my good luck when I was check-raised. I put in a min-raise and then something funny happened ... my Full Tilt program crashed.

So I waited patiently for it to reload, thinking that I'd have enough time with disconnect time to get back into the hand.

The program only started up on the second try and when the tables loaded up, I could tell that my hand was nowhere to be seen.

An irritation, to be sure, but something I thought was minor. It just doesn't happen very often on Full Tilt.

But there must have been residual angst as I proceeded to donk off a buy-in with second pair versus top pair at another table that had dropped to three people as the result of the poor Full Tilt software.

Next time I'll know that when something out of the blue happens, to give it -- and myself -- time to get back to full working order.

The wisdom of 4-betting a small blind 3-bettor with JJ when you don't have any history on your opponent aside, sometimes any information, even if stereotypical, can lead to your downfall.

I liked my hand enough to call a 4-bet with QQ from the sb, especially when I saw my opponent was from Denmark, think Gus Hansen, the Great Dane himself. I liked it even more when he did exactly what I thought he would do on the flop, a stout bet of half my stack.

Why is it every time I check on an overly aggressive raiser they are almost always losing players?

Maybe no off switch?

You gotta protect your hands

Iron Man and wedding bells

It's funny how pervasive playing on Full Tilt can be. Last night I found myself mentally thinking which of three different periods next spring/summer would be the best for a wedding in Maui plus the most likely that I could qualify for Iron Man. lol.

One thing that annoys me about Full Tilt's new player badges is that they're so easy to accidentally click on, especially when you are multitabling. Then the browser window opens up to the Full Tilt website that explains those badges. Enough already.
